I am so glad that Fernando Alonso has finally recaptured his form that made him champion two years ago, albeit some luck he had. Engine failure during qualifying turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Haha, testimony to my belief that there's always something behind everything.

Perfection leads to failure.
That summed up Arsenal's home loss to HULL CITY, only their second in all competitions since West Ham defeated them two seasons ago.
Hull City, tipped for relegation this season, managed to put up a magnificent performance and fully deserved their win.
As for Arsenal, their obsession to score the "perfect" goal has cost them again.

HOORAY!
but still need monitor la...here's hoping for no relapses.

getting out of bed is so torturous.

anyway proud to say that THEO WALCOTT SCORED A HAT-TRICK FOR ENGLAND in their 4-1 drubbing of Croatia.

Hello everyone, I'm back!
After 10 days in hospital, I was finally discharged yesterday.
Phew, what an experience. Here's how it went:

20 August: Admitted into the hospital.
21 August: D-Day! Woke up at 6am to bathe. Anxiety lvl highest at this point. Then at 7am the bed trolley came and I was transported into the operating threatre department. After final confirmation of my details and particulars, I was wheeled into the op theatre. They transfered me onto the operating bed and there I was, wondering of what will happen. Looked at the clock. 8am. Then the doctors started putting in IV plugs into my hands. Well, usually it's not that painful considering that I have been poked many times during chemo, but this time it hurts coz the the plugs were large ones. Inject local anathesia also no use, can feel the pain. Den they insert sth into my neck. And more plugs into my other hand. I was like, "omg, can you just put general anathesia into my bloodstream now?!", and soon they did.
A few seconds after being informed that they had administered it on me, I went to Lalaland. Zzz.....................................

22 August: The first thing I saw when I woke up was the clock in front of me. The time was 8. But I was in a different location and I heard the rough noises of nurses and doctors. I was suspecting I had slept for 24 hrs straight and I soon continued sleeping again. But the breathing tube was damn irritating, and soon I keep waking up again, with the instinct to remove the tube from my mouth LOL. Fully woke up around evening time when they FINALLY remove that annoying tube and my family and relatives came in by pairs to have a look at me. I glanced at my body and saw so many tubes inserted anywhere and everywhere. My voice was gone thanks to that tube.
Pain was tolerable as I was on morphine.

I confirmed with my parents on the fact that I had slept for 24 hrs! Den the shocking truth came out: THE OPERATION LASTED FOR 12 HRS. Rmb in my previous blogpost about the risks of the op? It happened, alright! The major vein got cut a little causing small blood veins near the heart to burst. Den I lost a lot of blood in the process. But luckily, they managed to patch the veins up and resumed the operation. Thank God, I survived.

23 August: Taken off from morphine, and the regular painkillers start coming in. Stated on some mini exercises to get my breathing back to normal and my body to move.
Pain was notcable, but strangely it was not that painful at the surgical site. IT WAS MY ACHING BODY THAT HURTED MORE LOL, AND THIS WOULD APPLY FOR THE REST OF MY STAY.

24 August: BB ICU, Hello general ward. so i recuperated slowly over the next few days.

26 August: The docs came in and say the chest tubes can be finally removed today, but they found my heartbeat rate to be faster than normal ever since the surgery. So they send me for a CT scan of the heart. I was like "NOOOOOOOOO, I WANTED TO GO HOME EARLY"

28 August: Ok heart no problem. Lucky. It appears that I was dehydrated, that's why my heart beat very fast. So they decided to take out the chest tubes. Each tube has a diameter of a 5 cent coin. So imagine 3 tubes. Sticking out from an area near my stomach, just below the nice scar I have now(oh yeah btw they glued it back no wonder not so pain). Pulling out these chest tubes was the most painful incident that ever happened in my life. Not only is it painful, you can actually feel sth like going through your body parts.Anyways, they spammed gauzes, secure them with tapes, den wrap the whole thing with 3 pressure bandages. So now I got a big patch of bandage on my stomach which I can only remove on monday. And now having some difficulty standing straight cos of that.

29 August: Discharged!

So finally this surgery episode is over. will not be able to do sports for 4 months and lift heavy stuff. can only sleep straight for the next few weeks. and now v hard to get out of bed. and a bit of pain sometimes, but tolerable though.

but still dunno whether further treatment is needed. pathology results are not out yet, so dunno whether the extracted tumour is benign or maglinant. Now praying that it is benign, so that it will be finally over.

what an experience it has been.

Memories...

haha i know graduation day is like in october
but since yesterday was my last day of school for the year, I'm posting early.
It has been a wonderful 17 months with the class
i still rmb the first time I met up with the class
jasper shouting 0722 to grab the class' attention during the lvl camp
den got to know benjamin and jason
and den ah yong, chin keong and yongkit
they turn out to be some of my best friends in JC.
i rmb the class 1st mischievious act was to sabo Yong Kit as CT Rep
although yong kit pointed to the track, it was to no avail LOL
den slowly got to know the rest
and JC life sets in
from tutorials to lectures,
den to PW, CCA
but the class do set aside time for play by organising outings and for the boys, soccer

and of course, I rmb the care and concern the class has shown to me
like asking me if I'm ok when I was sick throughout the 17 months
like the boys fetching me home when I could not even breathe when walking anymore
like visiting me in the hospital when I was first diagnosed with cancer.

the journey should last for 20 months.
but sadly, I have to drop out with 3 months to go
so near, yet so far.

Thanks for the memories 0722. May we meet again.

Today's table tennis semi final match between Singapore and South Korea was so exciting. The match was so intense that it lasted for nearly 4 hours. But Singapore won 3-2 in the end, meaning that we are on course to win our first Olympic medal since 1960! Well done, Team Singapore!

The new EPL season will be kicking off tomorrow.

Here's my prediction for this season:

Suprise, suprise. I am once again tipping Man U to win the title.
Hard to decide among the Top5 in my list, as each has their own problems.

Man U is facing a striker crisis, and C Ronaldo may not play as well as last season.
Afterall, his loyalty may have now already be with Madrid as there are rumours that he has already signed a pre-contract. But Berbatov is coming, so we'll see.

Chelsea now has Scolari, a world-class manager in their hands, and has also solved their RB problem by bringing in Bosingwa. Chelsea seems to be more organised and experienced for this season. But Scolari boh experience in managing European clubs. And Chelsea also lacks the extra "punch". Malouda is not who he used to be, and so is SWP. Anelka is inconsistent while Drogba is getting old. But Robinho may be coming, so we'll see.

Liverpool signed Robbie Keane, but so far from what I see in pre-season matches, he and Torres don't click very well. Rafa Benitez rotation policy will prove to be Liverpool's undermining, together with boardroom problems.

The Spuds, aka Tottenham, has made some good signings in Luka Modric, Bently (that traitor)and Dos Santos. But Keane has left and Berbatov is set to follow suit, leaving Spuds with a striker crisis. But if they do manage to sign Arshavin, then maybe things will change. We'll see.

Finally my dear Arsenal. With the departures of Hleb, Lehmann, Flamini, Gilberto and Hoyte, the squad is getting thin. Ramsey and Wilshere are set to shine, but they are far too young. Injuries are also a main concern, with Diaby and Rosicky always injured. Basically there's a midfield crisis. But Wenger say he'll bring in a experienced midfielder, we'll see. Sami Nasri, touted as the next Zidane, is one to watch out for.

so there we have it. Top 5 analysis.
Although I tip Man U to win title, I silently hope that Arsenal can pop out a suprise and win the trophy this season.

Part 1: A LVLS: About 80 Days ...+365 days left

so most people should know by now, I have decided to take a levels next year.
because I foresee that I will need quite a while to recover from my surgery.
Surgery will be on 21st August.
A median sternotomy will be done.

"Median sternotomy is a type of surgical procedure in which a vertical inline incision is made along the sternum, after which the sternum itself is divided, or "cracked"."

ok so I will have a wonderful scar after the surgery LOL. With broken BONES.

anyways had an appointment with my surgeon on tuesday. It went like this:

DR: Ok, to remove the tumor, we will have to break your breastbone.
Me: Ok, that settles it. Broken bones will take long time to heal. BB ALvls

DR: The risk of this surgery is bleeding, infection.
Me: Ok, every surgery got this risk...

DR: The chances of you dying is about 5%
Me: Ok, you're scaring me a bit here...why can't you phrase it nicer such as "The rate of success of the operation is 95%"

DR: But I am quite concerned about this major vein over here, it is being enveloped by the tumor, I cant see it that clearly in this CT Scan. But dun worry we will be very very careful.
Me: OK I AM DAMN SCARED NOW

and dunno why, tears suddenly welled up in my eyes. I have never been this scared in my entire life. Tried not to think about it on my way home, but to no avail.

den i surfed the Net for more info about my operation. The post-operative pain is said to be excruciating. Suddenly, I now more worried about it than the operation itself. Omg, will I be able to endure the pain?

But decided not to think too much about it le. Whatever will be, will be. For now, I will just pray hard and hope everything goes smoothly.

ahyong pester me to blog, so here I am despite my hectic schedule.

Firstly, let me talk about the Singapore-Brazil game yesterday. I must say Singapore played well during the 2nd half, having the lion's share of possession. However, the Singapore defence remains culpable, as always. Allowing Ronaldinho to juggle the ball into the net...that's ridiculous. I feel that Singapore could refine itself by replacing the whole backline, and a striker who can finish off chances. Will Raddy rectify this problem in time for the Asian Cup qualifier?

Now onto the second topic.
Ladies and gentleman,
IT'S 30 MORE DAYS TO THE DREADED PRELIMS.
Time is cruising by.
Today I suddenly had no mood to listen to lectures.
Brooding over the fact that I will never be able to catch up with the piling no of homework.
Jason says he will die during prelims.
I say I die more.
Assuming surgery is on 3rd week of Aug, I will take the 4th week of Aug of recuperate at home. GP gone.
1 week to study...eh wait...still need to catch up on what I have missed.

I am not angered by the fact that cancer has to strike me at a time like this.

i'm back

so the aftermath of 4th chemo is worse than the other rounds
having a hard time to recover back to my normal state.
guess I'll need a few more days

well, at least no more cisplatin and etoposide being pumped into my body again!
despite them being such horrible chemicals I thank them for they are my saviours(i sound like some psycho chemist guy lol)
all that is left is 1-2 more 1/2 hr session of bleomycin
den 2nd week of aug begins the series of checkups that will lead to my surgery

a lvls.
to others it's getting nearer.

white blood cells too low.
so chemo postponed to tmr-wed instead.

so doc gave me this chemical which I have to inject by myself in order to boost my white blood cells.
some of the class boys grew nervy and refused to look lol
esp LUIYONGKIT who freaked out xD

and when I finished injecting myself I accidentally poke my finger with the needle while attempting to close it. zzz...

school's getting tough these days. everyone's deprived of sleep.

just when I'm starting to get back into school life proper.

I am freaking worried.
Been thinking, if there were to be surgery [this itself is scary >.<],

3rd week to rest at home.
that leaves me, not much time eh.

sometimes I wonder why I am so stubborn.
why I am pushing myself so hard now, when knowing that there's no way I can be fully prepared in time for a levels.

well, the truth is I am afraid.
of being alone.
of being out of place.
how the hell can I fit into another class if I repeat another yr?

well tomorrow school FINALLY begins again for me after such an extended break.
mixed feelings about it.
happy, because I will finally get to see my friends again and get myself working again.
a bit reluctant, because of the fantastic new timetable.

anyway I better get those notes ready and start mugging since I ain't have much time left.
-currently on my 3rd cycle of my BEP chemotherapy
-4th cycle to begin on 16 Jul-21 Jul so will be away in hospital again, will end on 30 Jul marking the end of my chemotherapy schedule
-depending on my oncologist and specialist, an operation to remove the remaining mass is likely to be on the 2nd week of August

it's going to be over soon. yeah!

once again appetite and stomach feels weird on discharge, normal i guess, wait for a few days den normal liao

wah i must say i was dam bored during my 6 days in hosp.
chemo started on thurs instead of wed so i had to stay in for 1 more day
bring notes to study rarely touch
wah i hope nxt cycle can go as outpatient
dun want stay in hosp
sleep until TIRED of SLEEPING LOL

well hopefully after this 2nd cycle the tumour would have shrunk even further

other than a bit of heat rash i'm fine

past few days I have been thinking of an issue
whether to take a lvls this yr or nxt yr

hmm weighing the PROS and CONS

If take this yr,
-maybe cannot cope.
-I cannot overexert myself, or my body will go kaboom
-I wun be able to work at 100% effiency
-so many things to cover so lil time
-i will be in and out of hosp= miss school...
-if side effects occur, i wun be able to come sch too
-chemotherapy might cause fatigue.
-in e end might require surgery= miss sch sumore
-may not be able to achieve gd results for a lvls

but then there will be frends and 0722 to turn to for help
den can get it done and over with faster

but if take nxt yr
-no friends?
-new environment which I may have trouble adapting to?
-econs will continue to be screwed, as this yr batch they are mixing micro and macro tgt
-the sian-ness of jc life for another yr

but then
-will be able to rest my body fully this yr
-will be able to focus better
-more time to catch up, and study
-able to handle the heavy work
-i got 2 yrs to spare [most likely only need serve NS for 2 months xD] , so stay back 1 more yr is not an issue

and sumore this yr cannot guarantee that i can take a lvl.
the chemo sessions/ surgery if needed might clash with a lvls

wah i hate dilemmas
my relatives, family and some of my close friends are advising me to take nxt yr.

wow. it has been a long time since i last updated.

as most of you know now, I have germ cell tumour, a form of cancer. A mass that spreads across the chest.

was admitted to hosp on 9 May after coughing every step I walked.
first they found water surrounding my heart, so they decided to drain it away
admitted to CCU for the 1st few days
den after that a biopsy was done to confirm that i indeed have germ cell tumour.
1st cycle of chemotherapy immmediately started as the mass was expanding at a incredibly fast rate
discharged on 19 May , 11 days being spent in hosp

den went back to see the doc on 22nd may
mass has shrunk and signs are gd

so 2nd cycle of chemo will begin from 28th may to 1st june, will enter hosp again during this period. [oh man, i hate the food xD)

well, I am just glad that I am alive and kicking!
the route to recovery will be long, but I shall not fret
positive thinking's the way to go

i would like to thank all my friends and relatives who sent me well wishes and visited me during my stay in hosp. I rly appreciate all your support.

to ppl who are helping out, i also thank you from the bottom of my heart

lastly, to my dear family, who never fails to give me encouragement and support.

I WILL FIGHT ON.

let me write about the wonderful experience during today's hospital checkup

1st was lung brathing test.
they made me blow into some tube
guess what, they cant record readings for 2 of the tests
because everytimre they ask me to take a deep breathe in and breathe out using ONLY my mouth, i will confirm cough...zzz
and there was one test, i was made to breathe in some methane gas...which was omg...

nxt was ct scan
2 hrs b4 the scan they forced patients to drink some 900ml (300ml at 30 min-1hr intervals) mixture that taste like SUPER DILUTED ORANGE JUICE with sth extra.
drink until bloated

den 1/2 hr b4 the scan tio poke lor
the nurse initially poke at the arm, cannot find vein, end up only blood come out-_-
so it ended up here:

and this thing stuck to my hand for 1/2 hr...now still got feeling got sth attached to my hand lol (yes i was also forced to wear hospital gown LOL)

den comes the ct scan
the machine is cool
but omg, i wonder how many chemicals they inserted into my body via that thingy stuck to my hand
ironically, the scan only took 10 min.zzz

had to take early leave

i think i have grown sian of CMPB.
everytime b4 going NUH must go there to collect payment slip.
dam troublesome.
with more appointments coming= more trips zzz

so today met with a specialist
who apparently did not know anything
BECAUSE THAT BUGGER DOCTOR FROM LAST WEEK LOST MY X-RAY
zzz anyways got checked from head to toe,
and took blood samples (4 tubes! meaning that I have contributed 6 tubes of my blood in 2 weeks >.<)

so more appointments coming my way
need ultrasound of the heart la, lung breathing test, XRay, CT yadda yadda yadda
haiz meaning that i will be missing more lessons
omg i am now struggling to catch up
with bloody flu, phlegm and cough still on
starting to worry abt a lvls...
will I be prepared?

anyway final results will be out on 13/5
if the mass is small, it will be an operation (gulp!)
if the mass is large, some needle bio-whatever will be conducted

i feel so hopeless for once.
why can't I just be a normal, healthy kid like I used to be?
things just went spiralling down since I entered JC.

turns out i have aggravated my cough by not seeing the doctor earlier zzz
so got a stronger cough medicine.
and antibiotic pills where 1 pill is equivalent to the bitterness of 4 panadol pills combined tgt
since i got a phobia of swallowing pills and capsules (in pri 1 i swallowed stepsils and nearly chocked to death)
guess what
i vommited half a pill out once i start biting
omg shit la
how recover liddat!?

2 days mc, maybe i not going sch tmr too.

ok many things happened during fri so i shall do a quick update

first, the gd news:
I GOT AN A FOR PW! xD
didn't expect it, cos i kinda screw up my OP
every member of my pw grp got an "A"
this would not have been possible without my fantastic leader xuanqi and the rest, Jason, Gek Hui and Charlene.
All of you were wonderful people to work with.

NS Checkup on Friday
took a long MRT ride to Harbourfront and then a bus ride to CMPB
and to my horror, i alighted in some ulu place , because the map showed that after the bus passes by the HP factory, i should alight.
But turned out there were 2 HP factories.
So slowly walked a tiring route to CMPB

Things went smoothly till the chest Xray station
I knew it...there's sth wrong with my chest afterall.
They found a lump in my chest omg...
need go hospital for futher diagnosis zzz...
pray it is nth serious
the most hellish part of the NS checkup is the 2hr aptitude test.
omg my brain went insane trying to identify patterns, solve maths and even PHYSICS qns! There was also some kind of memory test and also a test to measure your typing speed lol

then after that rushed back to nyjc to do ava duty for synergy instead of going straight home
which i kinda regret cos i am already freaking tired and still had to stand for 4 hrs
but i would like to say congrats to AHYONG for winning the Most Resourceful Prize for his magic act. Paiseh that the mic screw up and last min changes, but I had no part in it. Dunno what that sy was doing that day

went home with back pain and fatugue. but the week was not over yet.

on sat had ava exco interview.
glad to see some seniors back.
well, it was supposed to end at about 1.30, but it stretched to 4 oclock.
was damn pissed off with ___; ask so many qns until there's no tmr
also during the interview, __ tried to suan me indirectly in front of the j1s
also asked a qn on ineffiency, a j1 replied that he only received the msg from me that there is a interview the previous day.

but it just seems tougher now.
more remedials, classes and piling homework.
more intense PE session.
I'm getting tired, very tired.

My mind has been preoccupied with thoughts these days.

scaryingly enough, if I were to write an essay on this, this statement would be true to a large extent.

What a match yesterday!
At half-time, the circumstances weren't good for Arsenal, one man down, with Bolton leading 2-0.
The Fat Lady was gurgling her Listerine and flossing her teeth.
It looked like a lost cause, but in the end, Arsenal managed to put on a superb comeback and won the match 3-2(and at the same time, they made the Fat Lady cry instead of singing)

just watching this match has inspired me to follow the resilience arsenal's players show and fight on till the very end, even when the odds are heavily stacked against you.

the real battle starts tmr. I shall enter the battle with enthusiasm, though with a blunt sword and lack of armour. Along the way, I will sharpen this sword and build up my armour to prepare myself for bigger battles.

But then no one man can fight a big battle on his own.
They need this special sth to help them win a battle
For me, I am unable to find this special sth

today was sports carnival
and I'm proud to say 0722 managed to clinch 3rd prize among j2 lvl!
1st game of the day was touch rugby
we managed to beat 0721 15-2.
after so long not doing physical activities, feel so shiok after sweating
and i not cikopek!
0721's midfield was flooded with girls,
can't just expect me to stand there and do nth!
[and ah yong, dun think dirty, i only touch their backs]

2nd game was frisbee, our class managed to beat 0724 16-0.
dunno abt orienteering ppl, but certainlly they put quite a lot of effort into it, so bravo!

yeah so after the carnival jon lin, benjamin and jason accompanied me to sim lim square so that i could buy my new keyboard. den headed down to bugis to eat LJS before heading home.

hmm being thinking about a few things for the past few days.

quite fun la
boarded the bus from school.
den 0722 peeps were in charge of the volleyball station
whereby the lil kids were supposed to hit the ball 5 times w/o dropping
we were station masters and had to sign their papers upon completion

den after the event has ended, miss tang gave a short debrief along with mr singh
she said , "I hope this event has helped you to regain some of the energy you lost from your journey to pri school to JC"

last time, as innocent, carefree kids, we are so enthusiatic about everything we do.
but now, as we are approach adulthood, increasing responsibilities and expectations have weighed us down.
time has become such a precious resource that we cant afford to waste, especially in Singapore where things seems to go too fast.
we grow so fast, we leave behind many things along our journey.

i got an A for my alvl ML!
quite shocked, because I only managed to obtain to get a "PASS" for oral/aural
i must have wrote an awesome compo and did very well for paper 2 lol.

seniors received their results today
so proud that a zhss guy became NYJC's top student
congrats to all seniors who have done well in their A lvls!
and to seniors who did not achieve what they wanted,
cheer up ok!

wow, and to think that it will be my turn taking a lvls at the end of this year
quite scary isn't it?

Happy Leap Day!
phew, quite a tiring week
time for a quickie rest

ok update on my week:

monday: soccer competition
came early for soccer competition organised by Health Reps. My class boys, with the exception of Jason, with the addition of Aloy, joined. However, luck was not our side that day. Yongkit had to go for photoshoot, and we had to play 6 v 7 the most of the time. Referee was also not playing close attention to the match, making contreversional decisions. eg. our 1st match against kayakers, we lost 0-2, but the 1st goal was clearly a foul. the guy push our gk and the ball went in zzz.

2nd match, drew 1-1 after yk come during 2nd half. I can LOL at the referee during this match. Benjamin initially scored a goal for some distance away, and initially there were no half-court rule. den referee decided to INTRODUCE it, thus disallowing Ben's goal. Worse, he didnt even give the ball back to us. Then towards the end of the match, he suddenly called for a corner KICK when throughout the whole game, there weren't any.

Benjamin was utterly pissed off that day. LOL.

and yeah i just passed my maths test. Still riding on luck, scraping an D or E for tests.

Wed: CCA Bazaar
2 days before cca bazaar was spent on preparing souvenirs, tablecloth and poster. was dead beat.

Recruitment not so gd, 17 ppl only, doubt all 17 will come? somemore, only 4 JC1s from PAE helped out, bad sign that the others have decided to switch cca, or leave for another jc. oh well, not bad la, considering that all clubs and societies are suffering from poor recruitment as most prefer sports. well, wait for them to fail trials xD

Also throughout the bazaar had fun crapping with my juniors, esp Kai De and Christopher. Christopher drove AVA peeps insane with his lame games, including Mrs Heng. Only Kai De and I were immune to his games xD.

oh yeah mrs heng was nice to treat everyone on duty KFC! Thanks!

Today: Squash and KFC
played squash with Ah Yong, Yong Kit, Benjamin, Wan Yin and Gek Hui after lessons over. quite fun. but like all sports games that require rackets, i suck at serving lol.

after playing for a few hrs, ah yong left and the rest of us headed down in J8 for KFC, since Kit and Ben had craving for it since few days ago

den on the way to the bus interchange i bumped into si jia. waved and said hi.
den i slept all the way home on the bus, after a draining week.

yea. finally the weekend has come.
time is certainly flying fast.

wow vday this year is celebrated with high spirits.
thanks to the enthu-ness of my class!
everyone has at least a stalk of flower!
and tons of gifts being circulated around by my classmates
cookies, chocolates, sweets, muffins, etc.

we also played angels and mortals.
got a mini bin filled with sweets!

let's start with today
sth funny happenned during econs lect
there was a cockroach 4 rows above where my class was sitting
which went left and right, causing girls to scream at the top of their voices
jason's expression was so funny; "Wah lau got cockroach I take early leave liao"

then no boys wanted to be the hero and kill off the cockroach.
so lynette poh put down the mic, went up and scoop the cockroach into her hands!
omg she's so brave
even braver than mr nathan who just observed what was going on LOL

this week seems better than previous weeks
able to absorb during lectures.
managed to pass chem and phy. *phew*
though i am still quite slackish =X

past few days got a few ppl say i'm a radical.
no la, i not radical.
just expressing both sides of an issue.
and it's a fact that spore education system provides less room to explore.
everything is being drilled inside our minds.

totalitarian would be the word of the week.
esp after today's dialog session.
can see that some ppl aren't satisfied with how the school is being "governed".

and also it sums up the situation I'm facing now.
ppl who make decisions on their own w/o discussing with or informing others.

in other school-unrelated news,
omg arsenal tio thrash 5-1 by bitter rivals spurs.

3rd week of 2008 and it doesn't seem good so far.

While ppl are getting better, I'm becoming worse.
What is happening to me?
I have become more lazy
and of late more intolerant.
and tired. so tired.

set to do badly for round 1 of tests
gp compre test was hard as usual
chem test set to flunk.
one day of revision was never going to be enough, and heading to LT4 just now was basically kamekaze.
econs online test was no better. even with 3 brains working tgt, it was a struggle.

and nxt week comes maths test. vectors, i dun like.

as for CCA stuff,
I admit I am getting slackish too.
(though of recent, starting to get back into things)

hw. tons of it.
help is not coming fast.
unable to comprehend lectures this week.
and as always, i am clueless about econs.

DARN IT LA
shit! shit! shit!
a lvls are coming and i am underperforming.
Maybe I should pack up and go poly instead.
or maybe retain to change friggin econs to some other subject
but i dun wanna waste time.
and for the sake of my dreams, I must continue to fight on.

Starting to feel so disillusioned.
The sole consolation is this:

wow. today i finally found out why the timetable for J2 is so hiong.
it is due to the alvls being held a few weeks earlier this year.
so the school is rushing through the syllabus like a mad bulldog.

sometimes i wish time will slow down.
so that tutorials can catch up with lectures.
doubts can be clarified.
and more rest time.
(currently sleep hours is an endangered species)

yet i wish time can fly fast.
so i can get a lvls done and over with and enjoy life before NS.

starting to feel the pressures of JC 2 life.
homework's piling like mad,
fatigue setting in,
flu spreading around in class
at points of time, my mind just switch off; not interested with whatever the lecturer is talking (well, except for chem.)

and it doesn't stop there.
nxt week will be a busy week.
tests, CCA...
and as expected, tio maths remedial. This means that I have to stay back on one of the days, from 3-5pm.

need to act fast...
before it's too late.
so no more com games for me.

i need motivation.
but is it easy to find it?

tio struck by flu bug.
sneezing like no one's business!

willy was accompanied by his parents and siblings!

then willy's parents invited me, alice and charlotte to dinner@ Macs

as usual, after a review of 2007 yesterday, now comes my New Year's Resolution

So here they are:

1) Work hard to get "A"s for the A Levels (and also try to perform well for tests and exams along the way)
Self-explainatory. It will be one hell of a MUG-ATHON year.

2) Continue to grow taller
Like DUH.

3) Pass NAPHA
Must train and pass it so that I wun have to go into NS earlier.

4) Eat more fruit and vegetables
In order to prevent myself from falling sick. Last year, my immunity system was at a 4-year low.

5) Do sth exciting after A Lvls
Yea! Provided (3) is fulfilled LOL

6) ...?

Ok, now for wishes of 2008:

-For Arsenal to win at least 2 major trophies xD
-For everyone to be happy
-For life to progress smoothly

That's it. Chem hw still requires touching up. And I havent touch T10C and 11 of Maths. ROFLOL.
Well, at least I will escape lessons tmr, AVA duty for o1. (=extra time to finish up the remains of hw xD)

Yup, it's time for my yearly reflections again.

Well, like any other year, 2007 has been a year filled with ups and downs, new experiences, and memories to be treasured.
Ah, resolutions for this year, have I fulfilled them?

Going back to the 1st post in Jan 2007, the resolutions were:

1)Grow taller
Yup, I grew to about 160 cm, but still too short bah...

2)Make more friends in JC
Mission accomplished. Nuff said.

3)Good results in exams
Mission partly failed. Prior to both mid and promo exams, illness overwhelmed me. Bad results. But good performances in tests helped to raise the scores.

4)Learn something new related to IT
Failed. The hectic JC curriculum has deprived me of time to learn new things, and sad to say, I failed to learn more about IT stuff. No longer am I such a computer geek. Haiz.

Moving on, now for the:

BEST MOMENT OF 2007: PAE [Jan~Mar]

Life was so carefree then.
Going for weekend gatherings and lunches with OG36 peeps.
Talking crap with 0730 classmates.
Slack classroom activities.
Oh yes, playing cards sneakily in the library.

BEST EXPERIENCE OF 2007: Bridging Programme CIP @ Punggol Pri [Nov~Dec]

Nuff said on this too from 3 blogposts ago. Although now I'm still rushing hw, this experience was very rewarding. I kind of forget the troubles and the downs I experienced in 2007 during my time with the kids.

WORST DECISION I MADE IN 2007: Taking H2 Econs

Well, this was a tough one. In 2007, I have made many wrong and rash decisions, but perhaps the worst would be...uh...
taking the wrong subject combination. Struggled with H2 Econs all the way, and while doing econs hw earlier on in the day, I didn't even know what the hell I'm writing.

Yup I have also learnt a lot this year. Be it in studies, relationships, friendship.

-In JC level, you must be consistent in your work, or you DIE.

-In relationships, you should be patient and not make rash decisions. Do not rush.

-It's good for you to have best friends that will always lend a helping hand and provide support, especially in this tough JC curriculum system. And also friends that make you laugh.

With that I specially thank Kenrick, Jeremy Su, Daryl, Wei Sheng, Gabriel Lam, Yee Ting, Bak Liang for always helping me this year,
0722 peeps who always brighten up my day, esp Yong Kit and Ah Yong,
AVA peeps, esp my senior Sebas, who always lend a listening ear,
and also others who helped me in one way or another

-When doing something, do it with a positive mindset, then you won't hate it.

-You can't escape from eating vegetables and fruits forever. LOL

I also realised that,
Things/people that you dislike in the beginning, you will tend to like them in the end and miss them once they're gone.

Sth to ponder abt eh?

he told us that mrt broke down
and me and daryl were stupid enough to believe it-_-

then played 3 rounds of bowling
and zinc's gf thrashed us all LOL

WARNING: EMO POST AHEAD lol

Well after 4 weeks,
the bridging programme has finally come to an end ytd.

The Beginning
I still remember the time when Mr Kwek made the announcement to meet all Interact Club and SDP members.
At first, I was reluctant to go, as I was already planning to quit SDP.
But I decided to quickly pack up AVA equipment and listen to the announcement.
It was a request for helpers to help in the Bridging Programme where we will be assisting teachers and mentoring the kids.
I thought, "Hey, this should be interesting. Sth to fill up my holidays with. A hands-on experience of being a "teacher". CIP hours somemore leh!"
So I decided to volunteer myself.

Then a few days before the programme started, there was a briefing.
I nearly pon-ned it, cos had to wait 4hrs for the briefing and it would last for 4 hours.
But decided to go anyways.
Initially chose sengkang primary.
But last minute, I was allocated to Punggol Primary instead.

week 1 n 2
I was the first helper to arrive.
the security guard didnt let me in lol.
waited for the other 3 interact club members to arrive: Qian Yi, Lin Lin and Zafirah
after that we were allowed in when the teacher, Miss Sharon, came to fetch us.
and we started to invite the kids in.
so cute all of them
so it started.
we assisted them in writing, playing, drawing, reading, opening up their food packets, etc.

then it was wednesday I think.
a representative from the CDAC came by.
Asked two out of four of us whether we are able to take turns to accompany 3 of students to school and back via bus.
so in the end, I tio the one of the two who must fetch them
i groaned.
omg,must go amk 1st then can go home.
then 3rd and 4th week must fetch them in the morning!
my sleep time!
my hw!
however, the smiles of enthusiatic kids nvr fail to brighten up my day.
made up my mind that "aiyah! hw can do last 2 weeks of hols la"
so time flew fast...and slowly I got to know the kids more and bonded closely to them.
one of them is willy, the cute lil boy from earlier pics on my blog. I will end up missing him the most because he is one of 3 kids whom i have to fetch everyday.
2nd week ended, and the 3 interact members bade farewell to the kids.

week 3.
the kids know me very well now
3 new volunteers came: Charlotte, Germaine and Alice
initially the kids were kinda shy to them and they eventually warmed up to them
by now, I was practically suan-ed everyday by the kids, for they have known me since Day 1.
continued to have fun with the kids while helping them.
rehearsals also started for their perfomance on the final day.
as the end of week 3 approach, I can't help it but start to emo
for week 4 will be the last time I will be seeing them
kids tend to forget their early childhood days...and to see them just fade away and forget you is kinda sad

week 4.
final week.
the kids treat me like their own brother.
my hand became pain
coz i was the victim of "tug-of-war"
they wanted me to help them
esp on the day when the other 3 volunteers didnt come.

so ytd came.
the kids came with their family members
and we boarded the bus to evergreen primary
from 9-11 am they played at the game booths set up by volunteers.
after that, we proceeded to the hall to view the perfomance.
to see them perform wonderfully in front of a big crowd,
I was proud of them.
Then we proceeded for lunch.
On the way to the canteen, some CDAC ppl stopped me to praise me for sacrificing 4 weeks of my time for the kids.

after lunch, we went on board the bus and went home.
I gave the kids a parting gift: jellies, sweets and a card for remembrance sake in a goodie bag.
when the bus fetching the 3 kids home drove past, with my fav boy willy waving bb,
my sudden feeling of sadness just struck me
then slowly, 1 by 1, they bade gdbye to me and went home.

as I went on board the bus home,
I reflected what I have done for the past 4 weeks.
who cares about CIP hours
who cares about praise
memories and experience are what i have gained.
the kids may be gone.
but the memories from this experience I shall treasure deeply.

I have learnt a couple of things from this experience.
treasuring your friends and loved ones is one of them.
also always stay positive and think of others.

I have decided my career path.
To be teacher, I shall be. (though not in kindergarten lol)

with that, it ends.

today after mentoring went compasspoint to do GP project with ahyong, ben and jason.
after discussion, went window-shopping and accompany ah yong to buy some stuff
then we decided to kill time by going around sengkang LRT
after ahyong left, we went to punggol and took punggol LRT LOL...
quite nice scenery...
the breeze at punggol so nice
jason and I were talking about living around there one day

den comes the funny part.
when we going back ler (taking the NEL)
we looked for empty seats in the MRT...
we walk outside of the train
den benjamin was saying "eh later train close go inside la!"
but jason rebutted "aiyah so much time still got 9 minutes, see the screen...7 more mins"
however tat was the opposing platform screen.
i saw that there were 0 mins remaining, so i alerted jason "i think we should go in"
immediately after I said that , the "door's closing" voice was sounded
Jason with his hasty look quickly go in, i squeezed through.
when we got in
jason was laughing, guilty conscious

ya nice to see them again after a few weeks of holiday

can see 1 of them tried to hide tears today
they made stars out of straws as souvenirs for the kids
when the teacher told tat they not coming nxt week
kids keep saying "nxt week jiejie will come!", pretending not to hear, or maybe never hear at all
one kid even wanted to follow them home

well for me it continues!
although i doubt i will come for so many days on the 3rd week
got many things on...
farewell party, class outing, and others...
i just hope time will allow me to do HW! xD

well have been busy for the past week.
mentoring kids from 0830 to 1230 hrs everyday...
(except for thursday, when I got CCA meeting)
then send them home = 1430 reach home
i must say, quite an interesting and meaningful experience
the kids are so adorable!
and you know kids these days
they can be very cunning xD
no pics with me yet.
I always forget to bring my camera argh!
3 more weeks to go...
kinda tired...
too tired to touch hw...
i wonder how come I am doing it for 4 weeks while others are only doing it for 7-14 days!
argh!!!
i hope that time will allow me to catch up with hw and revision

Then went lunch, after i finish eating, sy suddenly came from behind and put a cake on the table...then the 3 sang bdae song....haha thanks for everything ! then went home and zzz-ed.

Wah I must say the food there very nice! especially the chicken murtabak. wah $5 get 1 big one and I ate it till I now super bloated i cant even eat dinner. the generous portion of chicken chunks...wah...

Well, not exactly good results, but thank God I am promoted.
Quite happy with my gp, physics and econs
cos econs need pass to overall pass =D

Sad case for ml, missed by 0.7% to the A grade
Utterly disappointed with maths and chem.
I let my teachers, past and present, down.
Looking at my classmates and ex-ZHSSrians in NYJC, I saw how far I have fallen in just one year.
Well, I promise to work hard to improve as much as possible for next year.

and i hope that 0722 will be promoted as a whole.

Promos officially ended yesterday.
Summary: i expect an C-E grade for all of my subjects, except for ml

so after the horrible chem mcq ytd, my class went to marina square tgt to mark the end of promos.
some went to watch movie, some went to kbox, some went to arcade
but we all went bowling.
quite fun
especially the part where the boys divided ourselves into two groups and competed against each other
chin kiong is one fast learner, i must say
perfecting my "slow" ball lol

past few days have been spamming the com
playing fm and watching anime
till shoulders ache lol

as in this time, I REALLY SCREW UP my exams.

the past few days have been spent mugging in school.
and it certainly has taken its toll.

today my brain simply could not absorb any more information.
furthermore, my USB extension screwed up yesterday, causing my modem to screw up, which in turn cause my computer to screw up.
reformatted com yesterday, but to my horror, my mum lent my windows xp cd to my cousin!
so today managed to obtain the cd from zherui!
thanks ah!=D
left at about 1pm after some unproductive studying.
went home and reformatted com.
then modem could not work.
so decided to went SHOPPING at sim lim.
bought a linksys ADSL modem and some stuff.
yeah my new modem works like a charm.=D

and i realised shopping at sim lim can relieve a bit of stress LOL.
well i need a rest 1st before the mugging continues.

well yesterday was the MENDAKI 25th anniversary cum awards presentation
yeah finally got my cheque haha
well i had to wait almost 8 hours for it
4 hrs of rehearsal on saturday
with the actual event taking about 4hrs yesterday.

wah the whole night
i was sitting in this table swarmed by VJC-ians and TJC-ians.
red and green blazers while they were only 2 brown ones.
lol.

listened to PM Lee speech
haha quite interesting.
dinner was horrendous.
shall not elaborate further.

the whole event made me thought of something.
am i losing touch with my cultural roots?

First,
HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY!
To all teachers who have taught me.=D
and since it's teacher's day, i will forget the negative things that happened today,
and post the positive things =D

so today was ACES day too, before the "picnic" on the track.
managed to snap some pics

then it was picnic, my class brought a lot of food, till got leftovers.
then after picnic went to our ct room 3-48 and celebrated AHYONG birthday!
then gave pressies to our form teachers

off i went.
THEN STH SUAYED HAPPENED
i told moses to help me hold the plastic bag containing the curry.
when he passed it back to me, he let go of it before i grasp it.
and guess what?
the path near the pull-up bars got stained by curry and chicken.

i ended up having to carry the bucket of curry all the way to zhss

really, i just feel that i wasted 4 yrs of full geog education.
i rmbed during sec2 i forgo the chance to take biology( then my bio component of Science was better compared to chem and phy) just to take full geog.
rly dam wasted.

another point to think about is staying in NYJC.

Close proximity to my house, wonderful facilities.less stressful.
Has it served to help me?
Or spoil me?

furthermore, i'm not impressed with the teachers teaching my class.
to me, only miss lee ,mr loo and my ml teacher is an exception.
I cant get enough help.
Maths and econs are examples of subjects that I will have to rely on myself and my friends

and i wonder.
why is it so hard to form study grps?
i would always have to ask the same, reliable people to help.

well, despite all this, i'm glad to be in ny for i have a fantastic bunch of classmates and friends who always make me smile.

i still got loads to talk about about what went wrong in my life, but lazy la lol...

ok today was a fine day, despite the day starting off badly.
Badly in the sense that JASPER ZHAO took home my tutorial 8B and forgot to return it yesterday, thus affecting my preparations for the maths test.
Then forgot to bring the formula booklet today...haha but punished jasper by asking him to photocopy for me

Ok, I must say Chem SPA and Maths Test was managable.
though i am still kicking myself for a stupid careless mistake for maths...
shall not elaborate further...
coz some ppl havent take the test...later the school blogsearch find my blog then i will be accused of leaking out ans lol..

Then today missed half of Physics lesson.
cos the notes was uploaded only today

then after that was the fun part: CLASS LUNCH
26 out of 27 people went to AMK Pizza Hut

yesterday was bbq with ector!(my ltc grpmates)
Not all came though, only Nadine, Albert, Timo, Joanne, Hon Ding, Cindy, Inez and Lester came.
But still had a fun time bbqing, eating and talking cock.

EPL officially kicks off today!
This season going to be very exciting!
With all the star signings, big spending, takeovers, student-vs-master, youth talent, etc.
Gonna watch Sunderland vs Tottenham, the opening kick-off.
The newspapers have been reporting that this year Arsenal will fare poorly in the EPL, but I beg to differ.
So what if Arsenal sold away Henry already?
Still got so many young players that are fast gelling together and playing well.
Though I may agree that they wun win the title, but at least a top 3 finish would do.

ok since ppl want me to update so here I am.

First and foremost, I would like to say sorry on behalf of ny'AVA for the major hiccups in today's National Day Celebration.

But I must say that it couldn't be helped. There was only ONE rehearsal, and back then, only Pugi, Dance and MLCS bothered to turn up.

Furthermore, the Indonesian dance required music from a casette tape, so we had trouble rewinding and trying to find the correct music and timing.

Nevertheless, good job to my members for remaining calm even though we were pressured by teachers and the waiting audience!

Ok, so after that, Shang Ya, Zhe Rui and I waited till 1.45pm for dear old ex-secretary Yue Kiat before we set off on a long trip to Queensway Shopping Centre to survey Tshirt models and prices for CCA Tshirt.

On the bus, talked a lot of crap and other stuff. Found out an interesting fact...
SHANGYA WAS MY PRIMARY SCHOOL MATE LOL!
in bendemeer primary school.
b4 i chao to another school in mid-P3.
and she knows about some of my childhood friends and my cousin.
Lol, the world is so small afterall.

Then we reached Queensway Shopping Centre and started to survey for Tshirts.
Then we bumped into 2 ny councillors who are negotiating over Council Tshirt.
LOL!
After looking at a number of shops, I manage to find out where various classes ordered their class Tshirt from, eg. 0716 and 0717, and even the school's 30th anniversary shirt.
LOL...design so similar somemore.
After surveying, we are down to 2 shops which offer a reasonable price for our CCA shirt; so now to gather members' opinion before submitting design.
(btw 0722, i saw some cool designs, and they are quite cheap!)

After that, we went to Macs to eat. I budgeted and just bought a McChicken burger. ( furthermore i was feeling full then too) But our ever-kind ava president decided to treat me to sprite drink. Thanks ya, but actually feel paiseh la, coz i got a $10 note in my wallet lol. Then after that, decided to talk about current affairs, some private stuff, some teenage issues...and also dark secrets surrounding...certain people. Shall not name who...but indeed I agree that looks can be deceiving.

Then we bumped into a magic and trick shop. Once again, nice Shang Ya decided to buy sth for Kenrick that will be useful for his magic tricks. (oh kenrick if u are reading this, I will be giving to you the thing on Monday). Then SY and Zhe Rui continued experimenting with other stuff, while me and Yue Kiat talk about romance. We found out sth interesting haha...then after SY and ZR finish playing, all 4 of us decided to go back home. Then at dhoby ghaut MRT station, sth bad happened. I think a kid got hit by the closing doors, but luckily he was pulled to safety in the nick of time. Scary sia...
